Paragon Funeral Services Staff

Our mission at Paragon Funeral & Cremation Services is to provide a professional environment which incorporates affordable options. As a family owned and operated business since 1998, we maintain a standard of excellence second to none. Our values are professionalism, dignity, honesty and compassion through life's most difficult journey.

What sets us apart, is a staff that has a wealth of combined experience. Each staff member has chosen their profession because it provides them with an opportunity to demonstrate compassion, understanding, and caring to families during difficult times. Each member of the staff believes wholeheartedly in the values we represent. These qualities are at the heart of the services we provide to each family we work with, no matter what that family’s individual needs might be.

Under the management of Miles and Louise, the staff at Paragon continues to uphold the highest standard of service.

Miles & Louise Ernst

After a friend suggested that a career as a funeral director might suit him, Miles pursued a summer work term. During that time, he realized that the profession of a funeral director is often misinterpreted as being surrounded by death — a sentiment that could not be further from the truth, as Miles believes that his work is all about helping the living.

Having completed an apprenticeship at Clements Funeral Home in Rosetown, Miles obtained his licenses as funeral director and embalmer through the Saskatchewan Funeral Service Association, in conjunction with the University of Saskatchewan, and accepted the position of general manager with Paragon Funeral Services in 2001. In 2012, in conjunction with the acquisition of the crematorium, Miles obtained his Certified Cremation Technician designation.

A sports enthusiast, Miles enjoys coaching and watching his boys play hockey and football and cheers on his beloved Green Bay Packers.

Louise was also introduced to the profession in British Columbia. She accepted an opportunity to apprentice at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home in Port Alberni, B.C. and graduated from the Western School of Funeral Services in B.C. in 1998.

Not only do they own the business, both are licensed funeral directors and embalmers. Together, Miles and Louise provide clients with over 30 years of caring experience.

Louise joined Miles at Paragon Funeral Services in 2002, after finishing maternity leave with the first of their four sons.

In her free time, Louise is a digital scrapbooking enthusiast who also has interests in reading, photography, landscaping and interior design. She spends her winters as a hockey mom!

Together, Miles and Louise are the proud parents of four boys. As a family, the Ernst’s enjoy camping, going on vacation and participating in various community activities.
